Mark Longtin
Mr. Longtin’s interest in mathematics began in second grade, when he noticed patterns formed by the multiples of 1/7 . He obtained a SB in math and a SM in operations research from MIT, and then went on long career in the financial industry, working in NYC and London. After leaving the financial business, he moved to New Hampshire and started the New Hampshire Math Circle. His Erdős–Bacon number is 7.
Mike Wenger
Mr. Wenger is a retired math teacher with over twenty years experience at Londonderry High School. He also captained the New Hampshire State Math Team. He combines his passion for teaching with skills in carpentry. Mr. Wenger is fluent in German, and knows how to raise a barn.
Semra Kılıç-Bahi
Dr. Kılıç-Bahi is Director of the Quantitative Skills Center at Connecticut College. She obtained her PhD in Operator Theory from the University of New Hampshire. In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. Kılıç-Bahi currently leads an effort to increase women’s participation in mathematics. She conducted research in quantitative literacy, and taught students how to apply math towards finding the “Perfect Date”.
Teresa Magnus
Dr. Magnus is a mathematics professor at Rivier University. She earned her doctorate in mathematics from the University of Virginia where she explored a projective-like geometry and determined what algebraic properties the set of coordinates must satisfy. Terri loves exploring mathematical problems and the NH mountains. She has also served as President of the New Hampshire Teachers of Mathematics.
Vedant Patil
Vedant has been a member of the Math Circle since its founding in 2019 and is the captain of the Nashua South Math Team. He participates in math contests like the American Regions Math League, HMMT, and WPI Math Meet and has won several awards. When not solving math puzzles, you can find Vedant on the hiking trails or practicing for his next flute performance.
