The Math Circle resumes this weekend for the topic: “Monday is One Day”. My birthday was on a Monday this year – I really hate that… but it will be on a Saturday in 2024 – much nicer! Following the approach of mathematician John Conway, we will learn how to apply modulo 7 mental arithmetic to answer “everyday” questions about a system invented by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582.
Part of the activity will include an online game – so please bring a WiFi enabled smartphone or tablet.
